'build' provides various direct services to assist construction related small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within Kirklees to improve business acumen, gain extra turnover and employ local people in their businesses. SMEs join build (for a small annual fee based on number of employees) and receive the following benefits:
Membership directoryThe Membership directory is classified by business type and enjoys wide circulation to the buyers in Kirklees - Council, Schools, Housing Associations, other major developers and main contractors and the general public.
HelplineOur office can provide assistance on a range of business and employment matters or we can refer member companies to appropriate professional advisers when necessary.
GrantsGrants may be available to members to assist business development in areas such as Health & Safety, Marketing, and other consultancy. 'build' bids for this funding to a range of agencies including European Regional Development Fund, European Social Fund, Kirklees Council, Learning & Skills Council, Yorkshire Forward etc. etc.)
News'build' provides a newsletter and targeted information about events which may be of assistance to local construction businesses
Job Match'build' operates a job matching service whereby member businesses notify vacancies which we can seek to fill from our database of clients seeking work in the industry. We will also advertise the vacancy, if necessary, and pre-interview candidates if required.
Business OpportunitiesMembers receive by email weekly digests from the Official Journal of the European Union which specifies all major tenders in the construction industry. Also available are all the planning notices in the Kirklees district in a simple Word document. Associate Members (major developers) also advise us of upcoming sub-contracts they are sourcing and we email our members with the details.
